Solar for Standalone Saloons & Barbershops (Solar Yaka)

To address the adverse economic impact of loadshedding on MSMEs and Cooperatives, the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) is hereby inviting Marketeer Cooperatives (Markets) in Lusaka and Copperbelt Province (later to be rolled out to other provinces) and targeted citizens and enterprises across the country to apply for the following solar affordable and easily accessible loan empowerment products:

  1. Solar for Marketeer Cooperatives (Markets) in Lusaka and Copperbelt Province (later to be rolled out to other provinces).
  2. Solar for standalone Saloons and Barbershops (Solar Yaka) across the country.

The ultimate objective for providing these loan products is to eliminate the recipients’ dependence on hydropower provided by ZESCO which has been highly erratic and disruptive due to loadshedding. This will also ensure business continuity and job security in these subsectors.
