🌱 CEEC HORTICULTURE LOAN PRODUCT – NOW AVAILABLE IN LUSAKA & NDOLA
Are you a farmer or agro-SME involved in fruit or crop production? The Horticulture Loan Product supports individual farmers working through cooperatives in Lusaka and Ndola to increase production, reduce post-harvest losses, and earn more through value addition.
This loan product follows a backward linkage model, where farmers and cooperatives work together across the entire value chain. Individual farmers are supported with financing for inputs and equipment to grow fruits and crops. The harvested produce is then aggregated and processed by the same cooperative, which also markets and sells the final products.
The Commission further supports cooperatives with processing equipment so that produce can be transformed into higher-value products such as tomato paste, jams, dried vegetables, fruits, herbs and spices thereby helping to reduce waste and improve income for farmers.
The product provides financing for:
✅ Crop and fruit production (inputs and equipment for farmers)
✅ Aggregation through cooperatives
✅ Cold storage and cold chain facilities
✅ Processing and value addition equipment
Financing Thresholds:
• Production of Crops & Fruits: Up to K500,000
• Aggregation & Processing: Up to K2,500,000
✍️ Eligibility Criteria:
- Zambian citizen – Green National Registration Card
- Must be a registered cooperative
- Valid ZRA Tax Clearance Certificate
- Clean Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) history
- Proof of land title or lease agreement (for producers)
- Commitment to environmental and food safety compliance
- Cooperative operating within Lusaka and/or Ndola
- Demonstrated experience or potential in crop and fruit farming
- Owner’s contribution is an added advantage
