CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – HORTICULTURE LOAN PRODUCT

PROPOSALS TO UNDERTAKE BUSINESS INVESTMENTS WITH FUNDING FROM THE CITIZENS ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT FUND (CEEF) FOR THE YEAR 2026

The Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) invites targeted citizens, SMEs and co-operatives to apply for investment projects in Chilanga, Chongwe and Kafue districts in Lusaka Province. Kalulushi, Luanshya and Masaiti districtson the Copperbelt, to strengthen urban food systems and agricultural value addition through financing for vegetable aggregation, cold storage and processing facilities, and backward linkage support for primary producers in surrounding areas.

Horticulture Loan Product    (For Fruits and Crops Through Cooperatives in Lusaka and Ndola)  Cold-Chain Storage Solutions and Working Capital.   Equipment such as Drip Irrigation, tractors and seed.Production of crops and fruits by small-scale farmers up to K500,000.   Aggregation & Processing through Cooperatives model: up to K2,500,000.  Maximum 36 Months (3 Years) at 12% interest per annum.   Grace Period for 6 Months.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a Zambian with a green NRC
  • Must be a Zambian-owned SME, cooperative, or farmer enterprise.
  • Must hold valid PACRA/Cooperative registration.
  • Producers must show proof of land title or lease agreement for land up to 10ha.
  • Must demonstrate experience or clear potential in vegetable farming, aggregation, or processing.
  • Incomplete or incorrectly submitted applications will not be considered. Please ensure you follow the correct submission method for your loan product as guided on the website.
  • All applications with adverse CRB Reports in the name of the individual, enterprise or any of its directors WILL NOT BE considered.
  • Salaried employees are required to commit to monthly deductions from their salaries via their respective employers.

Note: All successful individual applicants must be willing to become members of production or processing cooperatives.
