Muchinga Mills ‘Switched On’

Operations at a new maize milling and stock feed production plant in Nakonde District have began with 18 new jobs to be created in the district.

Webget Investments Limited, trading as Muchinga Mills Limited, received a loan amounting to K947, 770 from the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) to set up a maize milling and stock feed production plant. The loan also financed procurement of a 15 tonne truck.

The Plant has a daily production capacity of 500 bags of Breakfast and Roller Meal in 10kg and 25kg packaging, as well as 250 bags of stock feed-per day in 50kg packaging. This will create a market for over 1, 000 small scale maize and soya beans farmers in the district.

This type of investment forms part of the drive to develop the rural areas which CEEC Director General, Likando Mukumbuta, has lauded as, “being fully aligned with Government’s Industrialisation and Job Creation Strategy”.

Mr. Mukumbuta added, “this is how the Commission is contributing to theindustrialisation of the rural areas with the full participation of the Zambian entreprenuers”.

And, Muchinga Mills Director, Webster Sinyinga, has stated  his company’s commitment to producing high quality stockfeed that will help the business penetrate into the Northern and Central provinces, as well as cross over into neighbouring Tanzania.
