EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR THE PROVISION OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SERVICES TO CEEC CLIENTS

  1. BACKGROUND

The Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (“CEEC”) is a body corporate established through the enactment of the Citizens Economic Empowerment Act No. 9 of 2006 to foster broad-based economic empowerment. Broad-based economic empowerment is defined in the Act as ‘the economic empowerment of targeted citizens, citizen influenced companies, citizen empowered companies and citizen owned companies through diverse but integrated socio-economic strategies that include ownership of productive assets and resources, increasing the levels of employment in the formal sector, increasing household incomes, expanding literacy and skills development, and ensuring preferential procurement and access to services of state institutions.

CEEC invites proposals from suitably qualified and experienced Zambian citizens and targeted companies (according to the CEE Act No. 9 of 2006) for the provision of Business Development Services (BDS) to the Commission and its clients. The successful service providers will be required to assist with technical and other capacity building support during the pre-investment and post investment stages on a need basis.

  • EXPRESSION OF INTEREST INVITATION IS FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS
    • Business Skills, Coaching/Mentorship, and Counseling – Training in Financial management and Investment (Generic and Sector Specific training in Agriculture, Light Manufacturing, Bulk Cold Storage provision, Agriculture Mechanization, Auto Mechanics, ICT, Media and Creative arts).
  • Entrepreneurship Skills Development – Including entrepreneurial process, work culture/mindset change, entrepreneurial characteristics, entrepreneurial creativity and innovation, startup acceleration and failure avoidance, entrepreneurial management, etc. 
  • Creation of Trading platforms among SMEs/cooperatives digitization of SME/cooperative procurement and sales processes, and provision of real time data for monitoring trading activities of loan recipients.
    • Monitoring and Evaluation services
  • Management Consultants – Including client management on behalf of CEEC
  • Any other BDS that would be considered appropriate for CEEC clients

  • Selection Criteria

EOI submissions will be checked for completeness and compliance with the requirements of this invitation for expression of interest. The selection will be made based on the following;

  1. Professional & Academic qualifications
  2. Course outlines and methodology for delivering the proposed trainings, workshops, and business coaching.
  3. Relevant Business Advisory / Consultancy Experience
  4. Relevant case studies on successful assignments delivered 6. Professional Membership
  5. Professional Indemnity
  6. Accreditation from relevant bodies

DEADLINE: The closing date for submission of proposals for the provision of BDS is Friday, 14 October 2022.
